The confine between tech and craft is being liquified by the presence of trailblazing advances in the tech field. Jewellers are opting more and more for 3D printing methods, nanotechnology and lightweight machinery embracing in this way the avant-garde side of manufacturing. Labyrinthine geometries and algorithmic designs in illusionary patterns are spurred by the immersion inside the ever-increasing presence of the digital realm; sassy lineages become a contraposition to the traditional jewellery aesthetics and offering. Furthermore, as AI-art is gaining ground, the contemporary consumer is guided into new ways of oneiric evasions, where dynamic mixes of sophisticated and humble, high and low materials are present.

Due to the growing desire for self-hyperness sparked by the development of digital artistry, delicately-irreverent universes are being conceived as forms of at-hand, personalized cocoons.

Using darkened sterling silver hardware, and various colours of metal leaf and resin, Claire Webb delves into this concept while Martha Calvo gives her interpretation by mixing different enamel beads with pave crystal rhodium plate.

The digital era spurs a new way of conceiving, as designers and consumers become aware of the potential of technology to experiment with the unexpected while adhering to the dynamic, fizzy mood of the digital world.
