Sophisticore - The New Thinker
Sophisticore is an evolution of a Normcore movement: “a unisex fashion trend characterized by unpretentious, average-looking clothing”. This movement describes not a particular look but a general attitude: embracing sameness deliberately as a new way of being cool, rather than striving for “difference” or “authenticity”. In the Era of self-branding and iconicity, to stand out from the anonymity of technology and social media is a surviving instinct.
Individuality, and self-expression, becomes the core of our lives. Style must be comfortable and functional, reflecting consumer’s taste and lifestyle. Refinement is a process that must start from the core, or centre, or nucleus: “the basic and most important part of something”.
A utopia is forming, seeking a drastic change that could impact our present and future. Sophistication is subtile, and innovation may be invisible to the common eye but revolutionary in the core, in the technology of its construction.
